Full Time – Permanent – 37 hours per week – required to be located 30 minutes of PE2 7BZ

We have a brand-new opportunity to join our growing IT Service Delivery team! This role has been created to help ensure that CKH are providing the best-in-class systems to all customers at an operational level.

The role will focus on working with CKH external managed service providers, network infrastructure, mobile and fixed telephony, collaboration and communication systems. The successful incumbent will also be responsible for providing new solutions to enhance services and help customers achieve their strategic goals! This unique opportunity with us will span the whole project management lifecycle from planning to implementing to evaluation!

To be successful in role you will need to have a blend of technical expertise in infrastructure management and advanced SQL skills to support data-related tasks and performance tuning.

 

We are looking for someone to

Infrastructure:

  • Monitor and maintain the company's IT infrastructure which predominantly resides in Microsoft Azure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Perform regular system health checks, backups, and disaster recovery tests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Diagnosing system problems; working with external partners to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure problems and identify solutions to mitigate those issues in the future and optimise systems to provide excellent performance to our customers.
  • Designing solutions; work with the business and partners identify and propose new IT solutions designed and implemented to enhance and supplement current services that are offered. This will include making technical recommendations to CKH

SQL Database Management:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL database structure and roadmap to support business applications.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for performance and efficiency.
  • Perform database administration tasks, including backups, restores, and data migrations
  • Develop and maintain an Azure SQL strategy
  • Analyse and optimize system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Implement best practices for database indexing, query optimization, and resource management.

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure the security and integrity of the IT infrastructure and databases.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Support the infrastructure Management in maintain and improving our security status

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with development teams to support application development and deployment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and the IT Service Desk team.
  • Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Ticket resolution; work with the ITSDT colleagues to ensure all tickets submitted by customers are dealt with quickly and effectively

Project Management:

  • Participate in infrastructure-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.

 

Essential Requirements

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent IT qualification
  • This post requires the post holder to hold a full UK driving licence and to have access to a suitably insured vehicle for business use.
  • Able to occasionally work weekends and/or evenings to support out of hours rollouts and projects.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Experience working within an IT environment Azure infrastructure and networking
  • Experience working with external suppliers to provide solutions for the business.
  • SQL administration
  • Present and explain ideas to key internal customers.
  • Strong project and time management to meet deadlines with creativity and accuracy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Up to date on industry trends.
  • Anticipates customer needs to provide excellent service continually striving to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • The post may require a DBS check if deemed appropriate by the line manager depending on the nature of projects and events undertaken over the course of time. The candidate must be willing to undertake and maintain this.

 

Desirable Requirements

  • Azure SQL qualification
  • Azure Fundamentals qualification
  • Experience working with multiple site connectivity across an organisation
  • Experience working with Managed Service and Cloud Infrastructure providers.
  • Experience working within a complex multi-site, multi-disciplined business that provides a broad range of services including 24/7/365 services.
  • Project management skills to provide end to end project management and delivery.
  • Knowledge of Cisco based networking .
  • Knowledge of SQL management in Azure
